Debbie Hennessey: Music
Dare Me
(Debbie Hennessey)
written by Debbie Hennessey, Richard Wold, Stan Webb & Renee Carly
While in Nashville in Sept 2007 I had the incredible honor of writing with Richard Wold and Stan Webb. Working with them was like taking a master class in songwriting. Plus they are funny as hell! My friend Renee Carly joined in the session and here's a demo of what we came up with. Also, a big thanks to Jeff Marshall for putting together the demo. I hope you like it! dh
Dare Me
I was livin’, but not alive
I was driften, on a lower than a low tide
And then it hit me
from right out of your baby blues
I’m not afraid boy
to get a lot closer to you
chorus: Dare me, dare me
Strike the match, I’ll jump the fire
Dare me, dare me
To take a love leap in your heart
String the bow, I’ll shoot the stars
You got me thinkin’, do you want to take a chance
Do something about it, or just stay here and dance
I’m more than ready
if you feel it too
Trust me baby
I’ll take you over the moon
chorus: Dare me, dare me
Strike the match, I’ll jump the fire
Dare me, dare me
To take a love leap in your heart
String the bow, I’ll shoot the stars
bridge: I don’t mind standin’ on the edge if I’m with you
I don’t mind fallin’, fallin’, fallin’, if you’re fallin’, fallin’ too
chorus: Dare me, dare me
Strike the match, I’ll jump the fire
Dare me, dare me
To take a love leap in your heart
String the bow, I’ll shoot the stars
